Science Proves Benefits of CBD Oil for Anxiety

Anxiety is one of the most common diseases in the world that afflicts more than 40 million people only in the U.S. Thanks to the studies conducted internationally over the past years, researchers have proved the positive effect of CBD oil for anxiety and other diseases. Thus, if you are suffering from anxiety disorders, the following information will be useful for you.

Most studies conducted by now were comparative and investigated the CBD effect in comparison with the THC action. As you probably know, THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, is a major cannabis compound that is famous for its great healing properties but also has negative psychological influence that results in paranoia and anxiety. In contrast, CBD does not have such effects and even negates the side effects of THC.

Though there are no conclusive studies yet, the majority of the physicians consider the received evidence on the positive effect of CBD sufficient enough to prescribe CBD oil for anxiety disorder and other mental illnesses.

One of the CDB studies carried out by Brazilian researchers at the University of São Paulo aimed to investigate the effects of cannabidiol on social anxiety disorder.

The researchers recruited a group of ten people diagnosed with social anxiety disorder to study their blood flow to different parts of their brain. Five participants were given CBD oil, while the other half of the group took a placebo.

The findings revealed that the group treated with CBD had less anxiolytic features comparing to the placebo group. This anxiolytic or anti-anxiety effect of CBD also influenced the parts of the brain that control emotions. The Brazilian researchers concluded that CBD reduced anxiety and impacted the activity of limbic and paralimbic brain areas.

In another study, scientists investigated the CBD effects on social anxiety by asking patients to perform a public speech. They gave the patients with a social anxiety disorder a simulation public speaking test before and after taking CBD.

After the scientists had compared the results, they found out that the patients treated with CBD had a low level of anxiety, while the placebo participants experienced discomfort, higher levels of anxiety, and cognitive impairment. These results were promising, as they showed that even a single dose of CBD could decrease social anxiety, stimulate cognitive abilities, and enhance speech delivery. Thus, the patients who took CBD before their public speeches had more successful and productive performances than the placebo patients.

This study revealed that CBD not only eliminated the fear of public speaking but also reduced the degrading thoughts and negative self-talk many patients with anxiety experienced. Most of the CBD participants reported increased levels of self-confidence during their public speaking.

These studies proved the benefits of CBD oil for anxiety disorders once again and gave hope to many anxiety sufferers that this disease would not limit their lives anymore. If you struggle with an anxiety disorder, consult a marijuana doctor on the therapeutic effect of CBD oil or visit your local dispensary to find this natural remedy.
