While many doctors agree that medical marijuana may be the key feature of the future medicine, there are still questions about the required quantities, methods of consumption, and prescriptions. The new startup, a Palo Alto-based company Potbotics, has introduced some peculiar technology into the industry. One of its products, the PotBot, is already available in some dispensaries. Besides, you can download it on your desktop and mobile devices. This program is basically a virtual budtender that helps you choose your perfect weed. Basing on your preferences and chosen answers, the app recommends you the best possible strains and methods of consumption.
The latest invention of Potbotics is the BrainBot. It is a high-tech electroencephalography helmet (EEG.) This new device is marketed for regular medical cannabis practitioners and dispensaries for diagnosis. The basic idea is that the electrical waves that move through our brains are captured by this appliance. They tell the doctors how their patients are influenced by cannabinoid stimulants. Thus, the procedure helps them decide what types and quantities of the herb to use. The BrainBot uses empirical evidence to determine the impact.
The founder of the company, David Goldstein, mentions that with the modern immense diversity of cannabis strains, it is easier to market and brand weed for recreational use. There are many ways to promote the plant on the adult-use market. However, when you deal with the medical aspect, the task becomes more difficult. In this case, you have to focus on the ailment and its symptoms rather than on your preferences concerning the taste or the level of high. It is just like having thousands of various painkillers and not knowing what will suit you better. It is exactly what the BrainBot is for.
In addition, the company is working on a cannabis DNA reader—NanoPot. This device will review seeds, scan them, and give all possible information about their origins, growing conditions, etc.
