Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research, the only peer-reviewed scientific journal dedicated solely to the study of cannabis, cannabinoids, and the endocannabinoid system, announced a partnership with the International Association for Cannabinoid Medicines (IACM).
According to the press release, the goal of the new partnership is to promote marijuana science and to explore potential applications of cannabis in medicine. The IACM, founded in 2000, seeks to support marijuana research, with a focus on potential therapeutic applications of cannabis. The IACM is also well-known as the principle organizer of the Conference on Cannabinoids in Medicine, a high-profile event that takes place once every two years.
The previous conference was held in 2015; the IACM 8th Conference on Cannabinoids in Medicine will take place at the Maritim Hotel in Cologne, Germany, on Sept. 29-30, 2017.
One of the goals of the IACM is to promote the rights of medical professionals to talk with their patients about the medical use of cannabis. The Association also monitors the situation with medical cannabis across the world and promotes the exchange of scientific data about cannabis and cannabis-based medicines and therapies.
Dr. Mark A. Ware, the Chairman of the IACM, says that he is very excited to have the opportunity to make more clinical research available to politicians and healthcare professionals.
Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research is an open-access journal, meaning that it is available to the readers online, without any financial or other barriers. The journal published a broad spectrum of research papers on cannabis, including animal and human studies, clinical studies, papers on social and epidemiological aspects of cannabis use, etc.
